Volunteer
More Volunteer Drivers Needed
The Community Thread Transportation Program needs 6 additional volunteer drivers to meet the needs of clients who live in the north and south areas of Washington County.
Drives may be within the county but may also include transporting clients to St. Paul, other cities in the metro area and western Wisconsin.
Potential new drivers must complete a screening process, which includes:
- completing an application form,
- passing a driving record check and
- passing a Bureau of Criminal Apprehension criminal background check.
- Two personal or business references are also contacted.
Community Thread drivers must age 21 or older, have a clean driving record and no criminal history.
Volunteer Drivers use their own vehicles, which must be maintained in good working condition. They must also carry adequate car insurance and show proof of insurance prior to driving.
Volunteer drivers receive orientation, ongoing training, and mileage reimbursement. Drivers set their own schedules, choose their preferred driving areas and volunteer as little or as much as they like. If you would like to join the team of dedicated volunteer drivers, contact Cathy Dyball at 651-439-7434.
If you have a few hours a week to volunteer,
please call Cathy Dyball, Program Manager,
at (651) 439-7434.
